To be completely honest, I did panic a little bit, especially when he fell down a break in the final set, but I’m not sure I ever believed he was going to lose the match. Maybe it was just suspended disbelief because I had been awake for 5 and a half hours watching this one tennis match and would have been selfishly pissed off if he decided to lose after all the commitment I put in to watching LOL
But he battled back from 5 sets in the semis and won the US Open, why couldn’t he do the same here? He’s given me little reason to doubt him, so while it was painful to watch at times because the result was so up in the air, I never stopped believing.
